Usage examples
Driven side sprocket
- *If the driven side sprockets are used with a key locking in equipment with two or more chains, the phase of sprocket teeth and keyway must be machined with precision, otherwise variations in the amount of wear of several sprockets on the same shaft may occur.
- Using sprockets with bearings eliminates the need for keyway machining, allows use without concern for phase and installation easier.
- *Equipment can be made compact because there is no need to use an insert bearing unit.

Idler Sprocket
- *Idler sprockets are transmission components that rotate with the power of chain.
Adjusts chain sag, transmits stable rotation and maintains normal chain transmission.
Excessive chain sag can cause vibration/noise and prevent the chain from properly engaging the sprocket, which prevents the chain from operating smoothly.
Takes up slack on long center distances.

Functions as a center idler on drives with multiple shafts.

Please confirm the following points before considering Fit bore BR Type.
Bearing life calculation is performed under the following conditions, so please refer to them.
It is assumed that bearings are used on the driven side sprockets in horizontal conveyor layouts.
- ・Conveying speed :
S-roller :20m/min
R-roller :30m/min
・Load :
Conveyor chain with attachment 1/2 of maximum allowable load
・Bearing used :
Deep groove ball bearing
*Calculated based on the basic rating life (L10) specified in JIS B 1518.
The basic dynamic load rating is based on the values of domestic bearing manufacturers, and is calculated assuming that no axial load is applied.

When Using Lock Series RS Sprockets
Installation
*Housing bore tolerance is H7 finish.
For the design of shaft side, a JIS-compliant design is recommended.

The strength of the shaft varies depending on the application, so please determine it according to the general mechanical design.
*Fix the bearing firmly to prevent it from moving.
Mounting examples include fixing using collars, end plates and retaining rings.
*If both the inner and outer rings of the bearing have a loose fit, clamp the bearing as shown in the "Collar + end plate" diagram.

Operating temperature
*Operating temperature of sprocket is -10 to 150°C.
Check with the bearing manufacturer regarding the operating temperature range of the bearing.
Lubrication
*Be sure to lubricate sprockets.
*For lubrication at high temperatures, see the separate catalog "DRIVE CHAINS & SPROCKETS" or "SMALL SIZE CONVEYOR CHAINS & SPROCKETS".
*Lubricate the bearings to maintain their life.
Poor lubrication due to grease deterioration will significantly reduce service life.
