Sprocket ・Pin gear drive

A sprocket is a type of gear and is also called a chain wheel.

A mechanical element that can transmit the rotation of a shaft to a chain or the tension of a chain to a shaft.

Types depend on use of a hub: Type A (flat type), Type B (single hub), Type C (dual hub).

High-strength, corrosion-resistant series are available for use in a variety of situations.

Features

  • ・When used for drive chain transmission, a large reduction ratio can be achieved by combining the number of teeth. (Usually up to 1:7 )
  • ・Choose from a wide range of lineups, including pilot bore products, finished bores and additional bore finishings. (Steel, stainless steel, engineering plastic, surface treatment, etc. )
  • ・A range of materials and specifications are available to suit your application.
  • ・Sprockets for pin gears with special tooth profiles can be used in combination with attachment chains or pin rack/pin wheel for rotating and linear drive applications instead of power transmission applications.

RS sprockets are manufactured in four types in conformance with JIS standards.

Usage by structure Used when mounting on a rotating body, such as the center member of Torque Limiter. Most versatile use. For use with large driven sprockets or when key surface pressure is insufficient with B type. For using two single-strand chains at the same time.

Notes
 1.The total tooth width (transverse pitch) of multi-strand Heavy Duty chains (HB/HC types) differs from the standard.

Locking system to shaft

The following three types of bores for attaching the sprocket to a shaft are available for RS sprockets.

  • Codes for types of shaft or bearing bore finishing and makes ordering by model number accurately.
  • Lineup of finished bores and additional bore finishings for shaft bore finishing.
  • Shaft bore, keyway and tapped holes have already been machined, so the product can be used as-is right after delivery.
  • Bearing bore finishing is a housing bore finished with high precision, and it can be used immediately after inserting the bearing prepared by the customer.

  • By tightening the bolts with a torque wrench, the frictional force of taper sleeve provides a firm locking between the sprocket and shaft.
  • Can be mounted simply with no troublesome keyway processing on the shaft side for easy phase matching.
  • Can also be easily mounted and removed only by removing bolts.
