Answers
Q1 What is the concept (Installing capacity) of cable/hose installing section of cable carrier plastic series?
A1

Lay out the cables/hoses in a row horizontally, and use dividers for series that allow for the use of dividers. Installing capacity ratio of cables and hoses is 60% or less, but avoid stacking cables and hoses in stayed systems even within 60%, as this may cause premature wear of the coating or disconnection of the wires.

For TKP Series, TKC Series, TKMK Series, TKMT Series, TKR Series, TKQ Series, TKUA Series

The cable installing section is determined by checking the space of the cross section based on the outer diameter/number of cables and hoses. The required number of dividers can be fitted where possible.

1) Distance between outer diameter of cable/hose and inner width should be at least 2 mm or 10% of cable/hose diameter, whichever is greater.

2) Lay out the cables/hoses in a row horizontally. If stacking cables/hoses into stayed systems, this may cause wear of coating or disconnection of wires.

3) The amount of cable/hose inserted should not exceed 60% of the internal volume. (Refer to the figure below.)

4) Do not use so many cables/hoses that excessive force is applied to the cable/hose.

5) Use dividers for series that allow for the use of dividers. Decide the number of dividers by ensuring that one cable or hose goes through one opening if possible. Lay out the cables and hoses by also taking into consideration the distribution of mass across the cable carrier.

6) Quantity of dividers
Dividers are installed every 2 links.
Number of dividers = number of dividers installed to 1 link x number of installed link

7) Normally delivered uninstalled.

About the concept of 60% cable/hose installing capacity ratio

Storage of cable/hose with dividers

If several cables/hoses are stacked directly on top of each other and are the same length, the wires are crushed at the bend radius as shown in figure (1) below (because of the same length, it cannot be turned outward). To prevent this phenomenon, use a divider as shown in figure (2) below and make the cable/hose in the upper section longer than in the lower section by the difference in the bend radius, so that the cables/hoses do not rub directly against each other.

Back to questions
Q2 What is the divider installation interval for cable carrier plastic series?
A2

Install every 2 links. Dividers can be structurally installed to each link, so if the hose etc. has strong repulsion and there is a concern that the dividers will come off, install it to each link.

Back to questions
Q3 What are travel length, unsupported length, leeway length, bending radius, and support roller?
A3
Unsupported length (F) It means the distance between the fulcrums of cable carrier, and the allowable length is determined by the model. (Refer to model list and load diagram on each product.)
Travel length (S) The movement distance between two points where the moving part of the equipment (moving end of the cable carrier) completes one cycle.
Leeway length (K) The leeway length the cable carrier has to absorb any differences in installation dimensions.
Bending radius The cable carrier bends in a fixed direction at a constant radius. This radius is referred to as the bending radius. (The circular travel arrangement bends in both directions.)
Support Rollers (R) If a stroke of more than twice of unsupported length minus leeway length is required, or if the travel length exceeds the maximum travel length, a support roller (or plate) is installed to support the cable carrier.

Back to questions
Q4 What is the material of cable carrier plastic series?
A4

Back to questions
Q6 What is the flame resistance of cable beer plastic series?
A6

Regarding the flame retardancy characteristics of our plastic cable carrier series (TKP type, TKR type, TKUA type, TKC type, TKMK type, TKMT type *), we use plastic material that meets the standard inspection certification grade UL94HB, which is based on the UL standard (Underwriters Laboratories Standards), which is a flame resistance safety test for plastic products. We can also manufacture flame retardant specifications equivalent to UL94V-0, so please contact us for details. *Excluding some sizes.

Back to questions
Q7 Can cable carrier be used outdoors?
A7

Basically, they are recommended for indoor use, but have also been used outdoors in many cases. However, outdoor use involves environmental problems unique to outdoor use, such as wind, rain and dust, so it is recommended that measures be taken, such as the implementation of covers. Please note that the cable carrier cannot be used when it is frozen. Stainless steel series are available as an anti-corrosion measure, please contact us.

Back to questions
Q8 Can it be used with the moving end bracket on the fixed end side, and the fixed end bracket on the moving end side?

Back to questions
Q14 Are TKP0320, TKP0625 and TKP0625H not listed in the catalogue still available?
A14

Sales ended in 2015.

Back to questions
Q15 Can cable carrier be connected and separated?
A15

All cable carrier plastic series can be cut and connected together with a flathead screwdriver and a plastic hammer. A wrench is useful for stay removal for TKMK series.

Refer to the instruction manual for details.

Back to questions
Q16 What is the difference between the mounting height (H') and the total height (H)?
A16

To compensate for sag caused by cable carrier and cable mass, cable carriers will have pretension, so the product should be installed at the mounting height H' and not the total cable carrier height H.
※Please note that the mounting height for gliding arrangement is different from that of the standard product.

Back to questions
Q17 What are the effects of installing at total height instead of mounting height?
A17

If the pretension is forcibly pressed and operated, excessive force will be applied near the moving end. Depending on the condition, change to the recommended mounting height as it may break prematurely.

Back to questions
Q18 What is the required space?
A18

Pretension and sagging will occur in the unsupported length portion depending on operating and environmental conditions. Be sure to ensure the required space (Required space varies depending on the model). Vibration may occur with increased operation speeds. If operation speeds exceed 70% of the max. allowable speed, double the required space.

Back to questions
Q19 What are the precautions for gliding arrangement?
A19

For details, refer to the technical data "Cable Carrier Handling - Precautions when fabricating glide channels.

Back to questions

Back to questions
Q21 Can CLEANVEYOR and FLATVEYOR be multi-layer stacked?
A21

CLEANVEYOR can be stacked up to six levels. Stacking FLATVEYOR is not recommended, as products may slide against each other, causing dust to be generated.

Back to questions
Q22 Can the FLATVEYOR ZP Type be multi-layer stacked?
A22

It is possible under certain conditions. However, it is not recommended in clean environments as the products will slide against each other, which can cause dust to be generated.

Back to questions
Q23 Can I use the Flatveyor ZP specification bracket on the Flatveyor?
A23

Yes, it is possible. L-blocks can be used to mount the FLATVEYOR.

Back to questions
Q24 Is it okay to install it lower than the mounting height (H') stated in the catalog or quotation drawing?
A24

Please install within the recommended installation height. If installed lower than the recommended installation height, pretension will be suppressed and there is a risk of premature breakage.

Back to questions
Q25 Can the product still be used if the required width and height for the FLATVEYOR ZP Type cannot be met?
A25

Please inquire as it may be possible. The required space (width) and (height) are determined taking into consideration the following factors: [Required space (width)] Due to deformation of the opening and closing tube, the bent section may expand in the width direction (approximately 5 mm per opening and closing tube). [Required space (height)] Due to the repulsive force of the cable and tube, the bent section may be higher than the installation height.

Back to questions
Q26 Please tell me how to request the selection of CLEANVEYOR ?
A26

Please fill in the conditions of use on the selection request sheet and contact us.

Back to questions
Q27 Can the FLATVEYOR ZP Type increase the number of cables/tubes and be used for long travel stroke by increasing the number of support members?
A27

When adopting a new product, it may be possible to increase the number of supports and extend the stroke beyond the catalog values depending on the usage conditions such as the amount of support material and acceleration. For details, please fill in the usage conditions on the selection request sheet and contact us.

Back to questions
Q28 If multiple cables/tubes are stored in the open/close tube of the FLATVEYOR ZP Type, Will the friction between the cables/tubes cause sliding wear to scatter?
A28

Although sliding does occur, similar tests were conducted in-house and no breakage due to sliding was confirmed. The FLATVEYOR ZP Type recommends storing one cable or tube per open/close tube, but standards have been established for storing multiple tubes, taking into consideration convenience and practical usage situations. For details, please refer to page 10 of the Clean Series catalog.

Back to questions
Q29 Can the brackets for FLATVEYOR ZP Type be treated with alumite or other surface treatments?
A29

Yes, it is possible. However, since the plate and plate fixing bolts are made of stainless steel, we can also provide special surface treatments such as alumite for the L-block only. There are some surface treatments that we cannot provide, so please contact us for details.

Back to questions
Q30 The FLATVEYOR ZP Type may require additional cables/tubes conduits in the future, so we want to pre-install openable tube. Can these openable tube be put into operation without cables/tubes installed?
A30

There will be no problem if you use it within the conditions shown in the performance diagram.

Back to questions
Q31 Is it possible to request the installation of cable and tube connectors for CLEANVEYOR and FLATVEYOR?
A31

Yes, it is possible. Please attach a harness drawing when submitting your inquiry form. Even if you provide a cable with connectors on both ends, it cannot be installed in the CLEANVEYOR.
