Q1 What is the right chain for indexing conveyors, where precise positioning is needed?

加工、組立、検査などの自動化ラインには、位置決め精度を確保した直線式ベースマシン(間欠搬送コンベヤ)があります。そして、その搬送系の一つとしてチェーンが使用されますが、通常のチェーンではピン、ブシュ間での摺動摩耗によりチェーン摩耗伸びが発生し、停止位置が狂ってしまいます。そのため頻繁に位置調整(メンテナンス)が必要になってきます。
そこでこの問題を解決したのが、間欠搬送チェーンです。ピン、ブシュ間にニードルベアリングを挿入することで滑り軸受から転がり軸受に変え、摩耗伸びを極力抑えています。これにより、高速・高精度な間欠位置決めが可能になります。
間欠搬送チェーンには、4タイプのチェーンがあり、用途や求められる精度により使い分けます。

Q3 Can plastic roller chains be used in high temperatures?

Lambda Double Plus Free Flow Chain (lube-free operation) offers the following three features.

Lube-free, long life

Lambda Double Plus Free Flow Chain (lube-free operation) has 5x the wear life of standard Double Plus Free Flow Chain under non-lubricated conditions (in-house test comparison) for longer life.
This reduces the amount of take-up needed to adjust chain

No more troublesome lubrication, no more grease on conveyed goods.

As with other chains, Double Plus Free Flow Chains need to be lubricated to minimize noises and wear elongation. When doing so, care has to be taken so that oil does not get on the engineering plastic rollers -- any oil that gets on them needs to be wipe

Q5 What should I be aware of when using two strands of chain in parallel?

チェーンの長さは、公差(全長公差)の範囲内でバラツキがあります。しかし、チェーンを左右2本に並べて使用する際、用途により極力、相対位置を揃えたい場合があります。(例えば、両側のチェーンをスラット等の治具で連結する場合など)そのような場合、ご注文の際に『全長組合わせ』の指示を頂ければ、当社にて1本づつ全長を測定し、左右のチェーンの相対差が僅少になるような製作も可能です。また、アタッチの取付け間隔が特殊であったり、下図のようなアタッチ付の場合、並列で使用する際、向き合うアタッチの位置がズレます。このような場合は、ご注文の際に『半数勝手違い』の指示を頂ければ、一組のチェーンのアタッチメントが対称となるよう製作致します。

Double Pitch Chain is available with S-rollers or R-rollers. They each have the following features.

Q7 Can standard RS sprockets be used with Double Pitch Chain?

With R-rollers:

Use sprockets for Double Pitch Chain with R-rollers


With S-rollers:

Use sprockets for Double Pitch Chain with S-rollers, but standard RS sprockets can be used with 30 teeth or over. Using an RS sprocket with 29 teeth or less will result in mispositioning of the chain pitch and sprocket teeth pitch. This will prevent smoo

When attaching bars to the holes of GNK1 attachments on Double Pitch Chain (attachments with holes on both sides of the plate), the bars will interfere with the sprocket tooth pockets if the sprocket number of teeth is small.

Q10 What should I set the conveyor chain take-up as?

Leave an appropriate amount of slack at the bottom of the drive side chain to ensure that the conveyor chain's tension (take-up) is not too high.

When rotating in direction A (forward)

With reverse rotation, adjust the take-up force for "when rotating in direction B (reverse)."

Caution:
F above is the target take-up. Adjust while monitoring conveyor operation.
Ensure that the acting tension on top of the take-up force does not exceed the chain's maximum allowable load and does not fall below the appropriate safety factor.
Too much chain tension will promote wear and shorten your chain's life.

Q12 What types of attachments are there for conveyor chain?

Attachments are parts for attaching conveying jigs to your chain.
You can add attachments to whatever link spacing you desire.
The following are some economical and versatile standard attachments. Indicate attachment spacing on your order.

A attachments

This attachment has holes and is attached on one side of the chain. Referred to as A1 or A2, depending on the number of holes. (RS chains can only use A1 attachments.)

SA attachments

This vertical attachment has holes and is attached on one side of the chain. Referred to as SA1 or SA2, depending on the number of holes. (RS chains can only use SA1 attachments.)

K attachments

This attachment has holes and is attached on both sides of the chain. Referred to as K1 or K2, depending on the number of holes. (RS chains can only use K1 attachments.)

SK attachments

This vertical attachment has holes and is attached on both side of the chain. Referred to as SK1 or SK2, depending on the number of holes. (RS chains can only use SK1 attachments.)

This wide attachment has holes and is attached on one side of the chain. Referred to as WA1 or WA2, depending on the number of holes. RS chains cannot use this attachment on every link.

This attachment has holes on both the top and bottom of the chain, and is attached on both sides. Referred to as KK1 or KK2, depending on the number of holes. (RS chains can only use KK1 attachments.)

This wide attachment has holes and is attached on both sides of the chain. Referred to as WK1 or WK2, depending on the number of holes. RS chains cannot use this attachment on every link.

Features extended pins on one side of the chain.

GNK attachments

This chain has holes in the plates on both sides. (Double Pitch Chains are limited to using S-rollers.)

Hollow Pin Chain

This chain has hollow pins. For the sake of convenience S-roller type chains are referred to as S-roller types, but there are no rollers. This is a bushed chain.

While attachments can be spaced more than every link, when attaching to an even number of links we will attach them to outer links where maintenance is easier.
