Troubleshooting Linear actuator

Zip Chain Actuator

※Most troubles with the ZCA are due to lubrication, selection, and installation problems.
If any problem arises, follow this troubleshooting guide and take the appropriate measures.

1 Damage to the drive section
2 Input shaft breakage
3 Bearing damage
4 Chain failure and abnormal wear
5 Abnormal noises from chains
6 Abnormal temperature of drive section surface (over 60℃ )

Troubleshooting for motors

7 Motor does not rotate when loaded (chains do not move)
8 The chains' direction of travel is backward
9 Motor is abnormally hot
10 Loud noises
11 Heavy vibration
12 Grease leaks
13 Brake does not work
14 Brake does not work well
It takes a long time to brake
15 Motor does not rotate (chains do not move)
Motor is abnormally hot
Thermal relay does not work
Braking noise is loud
Answers
1 Damage to the drive section
Cause 1 Overload Action Either reduce the load or switch to a ZCA with a proper capacity.
Cause 2 Improper support Action Fix the ZCA to a stable frame and then accurately center it.
Cause 3 Shock Action Install a damper unit to absorb the impact being added.

2 Input shaft breakage
Cause 1 Improper centering Action Shafts will easily break when using a cylindrical coupling and the like. Use Echt-Flex Couplings, then adjust to the required concentricity.
Cause 2 Excessive overhung load Action Adjust the load to fall within catalog values.
Cause 3 Overloads and impact load Action Either reduce the load or switch to a ZCA with a proper capacity.
Cause 4 Excessive input Action Add a safety device to prevent impact load.

3 Bearing damage
Cause 1 Overload Action Either reduce the load or switch to a ZCA with a proper capacity.
Cause 2 Excessive overhung load Action Adjust the load to fall within catalog values.
Cause 3 Improper centering of the coupling Action Shafts will easily break when using a cylindrical coupling and the like. Use Echt-Flex Couplings, then adjust to the required concentricity.
Cause 4 Axial adjustment of the coupling Action Adjust the position and length of the coupling so that the input shaft will not receive axial load.

4 Chain failure and abnormal wear
Cause 1 Overload Action Either reduce the load or switch to a ZCA with a proper capacity.
Cause 2 Poor adjustment and installation Action Either reduce the load or switch to a ZCA with a proper capacity.

5 Abnormal noises from chains
Cause 1 Side load Action Install a guide to prevent side load.
Cause 2 Insufficient lubrication Action 取扱説明書の5.保守・点検の項を参照し、点検および必要な潤滑を行なってください。
