Tsubaki's Power-Locks have also been adopted in transfer handling robots used in clean rooms. Handling robots have many joints which are driven with belt sprockets. A servomotor or a stepping motor is used for driving. Since high accuracy is required, key fastening which causes backlash cannot be used. When the capacity is small, D-cut or nuts are usually used for fastening. For larger capacities, the Power-Locks are mainly used.

Since this application is in a clean room, the environmentally resistant series of Power-Locks has been used. The stainless steel series is mainly used for semiconductor wafer transfer robots which are often used in high clean environments. The electroless nickel plating type is mainly used for FPD-related transfer which requires a relatively low clean degree (class 1000 or more).
