Purpose of Use and Operation Overview

Some facilities such as a tempering process or some specifications of processing targets may require 24 hours a day, long-term continuous operation. In such a case, since a problem in the drive unit may lead to shutdown of the facility, a standby drive may be used by providing two drive units as shown in the figure above. (In this example, a standby drive refers to a system where when one drive has an accident, the other is switched to be active immediately.) With a two-source drive system, even when one drive source has a problem, operation can be continued with the other drive source. In the figure above, cam clutch box A on the left engages to act as a drive source, and cam clutch box B on the right is overrunning to be on standby. If any problem occurs in the currently driving equipment on the A side, the motor on the B side becomes the drive source and starts operation. At this point, cam clutch box B engages and cam clutch box A overruns to break the link with the motor on the A side.

We designed these series to provide endurance against continuous high-speed rotation by encasing the cam clutch in a housing and allowing the adoption of an ideal lubrication type. They are broadly divided into the OB series which mainly consists of a cam clutch, and the TB series which includes an auxiliary reducer for turning and inching operations. The products are categorized into eight series based on the lubrication type and the presence of a lubricant cooling system, and each series offer models in several sizes. You can select effective specifications according to your usage conditions.
