Allowable screw shaft speed

When using a travel nut with screw shaft rotation, make sure the screw shaft speed is within the rated value determined by the following formula.

In cases where it exceeds the allowable screw shaft speed, increase the frame number and recalculate.
(Verify the allowable screw shaft speed if the input speed is 900 r/min or over with H speed standard stroke, or if the stroke used exceeds the standard value. )

NC = 96×n×d×106 L2

NC:Allowable screw shaft speed r/min

d:Screw Root Dia. mm (Refer to the major specifications page for each product. )

n:Support coefficient

  • (1)Free shaft end :n = 0.36
  • (2)Fixed shaft end :n = 1.56

L:Support space distance mm (See dimension page for each frame no. )

NS = N R

NS:Screw shaft speed r/min

N:Input speed r/min

R:Worm Reduction Ratio

Make sure NC > NS

Free shaft end

(1)Free shaft end

Fixed shaft end

(2)Fixed shaft end

(Calculation example )

Assume JWM200URH20D with input speed of 1200r/min with fixed shaft end.

Screw shaft speed Ns is

NS = 1200 8 = 150r/min

*From the product dimension table

NC = 96×1.56×51.3×106 22372 = 1535r/min

NC = 1535r/min > NS = 150r/min ... OK
