Technical Data  Cable Carriers (CABLEVEYOR) - Cable carrier dedicated flexible cable - Handling precautions

Handling precautions

How to pull out the cable wound in a ring shape

Always pull the ring-wound cable in the winding direction and do not pull it spirally out of the top of the ring.

How to pull out the reel winding cable

Reel-wound cables should not be pulled out in a spiral but should be pulled out so that the reel is installed vertically using a shaft or similar and the cable is not twisted.

Correct arrangement in cable carrier

  • ・When inserting cables into the cable carrier, ensure that the cable carrier width is sufficient to allow the cables to be arranged in a horizontal row and each partitioned by a divider.
  • ・Carefully consider the left and right mass balance when arranging the cable carriers.
  • ・Distance between cables/hoses and the divider or link should be at least 2 mm or 10% of cable/hose diameter, whichever is greater.

■Correct arrangement

■Incorrect arrangement

Cable routing methods for cable carrier

  • ・Route the cable so that it is not subjected to tension or torsion.
  • ・Cables should not be tied or fixed within the cable carrier.

Fixing at the moving end of the cable carrier (clamp)

Move the moving end to the position where the unsupported length is the shortest, and clamp the cable at the moving end.

Adjusting the cable length in the cable carrier

Move the moving end to the position where the unsupported length is the longest, and loosen it (slightly lifted from the inner peripheral surface of the cable carrier) so that it is not pulled or pressed against the outer peripheral surface in the bending part of the cable carrier, and there is no twist. Adjust the length of the cable so that it can be moved freely with.

Fixing at the fixed end of the cable carrier (clamp)

Check again that no tension is applied to the cable, and then clamp the cable at the fixed position on the cable carrier.

Wiring with air hoses and hydraulic hoses

If cables are routed together with air or hydraulic hoses, the cables are crushed or pushed by the hoses, which reduces cable life. Always provide a divider to separate the cables and hoses and wire them separately.
