Maintenance/Inspection
- 1.Operating part and reducer unit are factory greased. Therefore, use jack as delivered.
Refer to Table 1 for factory-filled grease and recommended grease brands. - 2.Use Table 2 as a guide when applying grease to the screw shaft. Refer to Table 3 for the amount of lubricant supplied to the screw shaft. To apply grease, move the screw shaft to its maximum stroke, wipe off the old grease, and then apply it directly to the screw shaft with a grease gun or brush. Maintenance grease is also available, please contact us.
After lubrication, also perform a full stroke operation to promote lubrication of the inside of the nut. - 3.Use Table 2 as a guide when performing the greasing cycle for the reducer unit. The lubrication cycle depends on the frequency of use, conditions of use, etc. Grease nipple and hexagon socket head plug are installed on reducer unit of JW025 and above. When greasing, remove the hexagon socket head plug and apply grease until grease input to the grease nipple overflows from the hole of the removed hexagon socket head plug. After greasing, re-wrap the sealing tape around the hexagon socket plug and tighten firmly to prevent grease from leaking.

Lubricate the upper bearing of JWB (ball screw type) and JWH (high lead ball screw type) through the grease nipple on the gear case cover every 6 months. This is not necessary for jacks below JWB/JWH010.
- 5.When using jack(s), regularly inspect the condition of the screw face and backlash. Jack life and replacement timing are determined by the following.
- ・JWM・・・The guideline for replacement is when the axial backlash in the direction of screw shaft and nut reaches 1/4 of the screw pitch.
- ・JWB・JWH・・・If metal particles due to excessive abrasion of the screw face are discovered, the mechanism has reached the end of the product life.
- ・All types ・・・Replace gear when its input shaft exceeds 30 rpm with backlash (rattle between input shaft and worm wheel) at H speed, or exceeds 60 rpm at L speed.
⚠In either case, if it is used at the replacement timing, this may cause rotation failure of screw shaft and input shaft, and further sudden drop of travel nut.
- 6.Readjust the brake gap of motors with brakes and gear motors with brakes before the gap amount exceeds the limit value. Refer to the instruction manual of the unit for brake adjustment and manual release methods. (Gearmotors with brakes for motor outputs of 25 and 40 W have a structure that does not allow gap adjustment. )
