A dish antenna is a concave antenna with a parabolic reflector and is used to receive radio waves sent from stationary satellites. The Power Cylinder for AZ (azimuth) control is used to determine the horizontal angle of the dish antenna, and the Power Cylinder for EL (elevation) control is used to set the angle between the earth and the satellite. Compared with the conventional (gear) method, the use of the Power Cylinder reduces backlash and makes overall system creation easier. It also allows compact design and feedback control to reliably keep a constant position.
