NC lathe Fastening of a servomotor and a ball screw
A highly rigid, backlash-free coupling must be used for fastening the X/Y/Z axis ball screws of an NC lathe or a machining center and a servomotor. The Power-Lock connection type and clamp shaft bore type of the ECHT-FLEX Coupling NEF series have been adopted. Ball screws elongate due to thermal growth. A flexible coupling can be used to absorb this elongation on the servomotor end (coupled end), while a rigid coupling can be used on the opposite end to reduce the cost.
